First results of the FLOPRES project: new sensors on the Roztoczanka Stream
Date: November 13, 2024

We are proud to announce the next steps of the Polish-Slovak FLOPRES project, which is entering a new phase! As part of our commitment to protect against climate risks, in October 2024 we launched a new series of water level sensors in the municipality of Gródek nad Dunajcem, on the Roztoczanka stream. This significant achievement is an important component of the early warning system for flash floods.

Expansion of the FLOPRES monitoring system in Poland

The installation of sensors on the Roztoczanka is only the beginning of the development of the region’s FLOPRES infrastructure. Further sensors, measuring soil moisture, rainfall totals, and temperature, will be deployed at selected sites to strengthen our monitoring capabilities. The entire system aims not only to respond to hydrological threats but also to forecast extreme weather events.

Early warning system to enhance the safety of residents

Thanks to the expansion of the FLOPRES sensor network, residents in areas prone to flash floods will gain access to rapid hydrological warnings and forecasts. The data collected by our devices, analyzed in real time, will allow us to anticipate dangers more effectively, giving us additional time to react and protect property.

The future of the FLOPRES project

The expansion of the IoT infrastructure in Poland is an important stage of the FLOPRES project, with further installations planned in the coming months. Our goal is to create an integrated monitoring network that will support sustainable development and improve environmental security in areas threatened by climate change.

We invite you to continue to follow the FLOPRES project, which is actively working to make cities and rural areas safer and more resilient to climate change!
